Studywiz ePortfolio is a flexible and portable online tool to capture personal progress and a lifetime of achievement. Studywiz ePortfolio enables students to store a variety of rich media materials including digital photos, scanned documents, video and audio clips and to arrange these records of learning in collections for a range of purposes. Teachers are easily able to assess their students’ learning progress as well as using collections for formal summative assessment. Studywiz ePortfolio comprises four areas that enable students to plan for learning and manage their records or evidence of learning. The studywiz ePortfolio meets the specifications recommended by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC):
Studywiz ePortfolio Showcases South Australian EducationThe South Australian State Government has selected the Studywiz ePortfolio for a pilot project that will equip students with 21st century lifelong learning skills. Thirteen South Australian schools will trial Studywiz ePortfolio, which will be used to support the State Government’s South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) initiative by providing students with a safe and monitored media-rich online learning space to showcase personal progress and achievement. The project follows several months of comprehensive testing and evaluation by Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA), and recognises that Etech has met stringent functional, pedagogical and technical specifications. Commenting on the announcement, Geoff Elwood, CEO, Etech Group said, “The SSABSA pilot was not only about meeting the technical specifications for an ePortfolio, but also demonstrating that we understood the needs of schools. We have a proven track record with schools around the world that our technology is flexible, intuitive and practical for teachers, students and parents.” “Schools will be very excited by Studywiz ePorfolio’s ability to embed media-rich content such as video, audio and sound, and students will love being able to showcase achievements and progress in reaching learning goals. Mr Elwood commended the State Government for recognising the need to provide students with 21st century online tools and technology. “Government’s around the world are implementing online learning strategies to enhance student engagement and support personalised learning, and this three-month pilot confirms the State Government’s vision to implement a world-class education system,” Mr Elwood said.
