Here is your chance to participate as a presenter, speaker, facilitator or panellist at this year Handheld Learning Conference.

Dates:

  • Final date for submissions: May 30th 2008
  • Second call for submissions deadline: July 31st 2008
  • Final date for poster submissions: June 20th 2008
  • Deadline for submissions to Research Strand: July 31st 2008

We are looking for examples of innovation in learning and teaching practice at all levels that demonstrate improvements gained using mobile and ubiquitous technologies such as mobile phones, PDAs, UMPCs, MIDs, internet tablets, entertainment devices, ultra low cost laptops, video sharing networks, social networks, web 2.0 environments, virtual worlds or entertainment software.

We welcome submissions from all sections of the community for example, academics, researchers, practitioners, learners, software developers, device manufacturers, policy makers, school leaders.

As part of the submission process you will be required to create an online account via this site. This is to allow you to update your proposal later if you wish and for us to contact you. Please note that we may need to contact you during the July-September period prior to the conference so please ensure that you provide relevant contact details.

Speakers will be expected to purchase a conference delegate pass at the early bird rate and will receive a free Nintendo DS with game title.

Learners (age 6-16) wishing to participate in the Learners Y Factor (with Johnny Ball) on the first conference day please submit here.

Due to popular demand we have added an academic research strand to this years conference and invite submissions for presentation of papers along the general themes of the conference, i.e. improvements in learning and teaching practice gained by the use of mobile or ubiquitous technologies such as mobile devices, gaming consoles, web 2.0 technologies, virtual world environments, social networks, media sharing and instant messaging.
