Hosted by Johnny Ball the awards uniquely recognise and celebrate the innovators and innovative organisations who have taken the risks necessary to improve learning. More than 1,000 nominations submitted by the general public from all over the world demonstrated the sheer breadth and diversity of innovative talent that exists amongst the teaching community and the organisations designed to improve learning and teaching. Finalists were determined by expert judges and the winners were decided by public vote using SMS messaging. More than 600 people came, the drinks flowed, the games buzzed, the food was plentiful and we danced to one of London's finest Jazz and Blues bands. We just can't wait until 2009!
